New Patient Chiropractic Appointment | $59 Assessment
If you have been managing pain for months, or longer, and you still do not have a clear answer about what is causing it, this page is for you. A new patient chiropractic appointment at our Clyde North clinic is built around one goal: finding out what is actually going on with your spine, not guessing, and not simply treating the symptom that brought you through the door.
The assessment is available to new patients for $59. No GP referral needed. No lock-in.
What is the ClearSpine Pain Assessment?
Most people who come to see us have already tried something. Rest, anti-inflammatories from the chemist, maybe a course of treatment elsewhere. Some arrive carrying scan reports labelled "non-specific" or "degenerative changes" and understandably feel like no one has explained what those words actually mean for their life.
The ClearSpine Pain Assessment is a structured, evidence-based process designed to build a complete picture of your spinal health before any care begins. It uses a combination of scanning technology, clinical testing, and postural analysis to identify the structural factors that may be contributing to your symptoms. You leave with answers, not just a treatment booking.
This is the starting point for all structural spinal correction work at the clinic, and it is the same process used whether you are coming in with lower back pain, neck stiffness, chronic headaches, or nerve-related symptoms like sciatica.
What is included in your $59 assessment?
Your new patient appointment includes the following:
Full consultation covering your health history, symptoms, and goals
Thermography spinal scan to detect areas of nerve interference along the spine
Full postural and spinal analysis
Chiropractic and nerve testing
Digital x-ray referral and analysis, if clinically indicated (bulk billed for Medicare cardholders through our imaging provider, no out-of-pocket cost for eligible patients)
None of these steps are optional add-ons. They are all part of a single, coordinated assessment.
How your first visit works
How long will it take?
Allow around 30 minutes for a thorough assessment. If x-rays are referred, those are arranged separately at the imaging provider and do not add time to your clinic visit.
What to wear and bring
Wear comfortable clothing you can move in. If you have previous imaging, such as x-rays or an MRI, bring those along. They are not essential, but they are useful context.
Parking, health funds, and x-rays
Free onsite parking is available at 65 Matterhorn Drive, Clyde North.
Most private health funds with extras cover include chiropractic. We will send you an invoice after your visit so you can claim through your fund directly. We recommend checking your policy before attending.
If x-rays are clinically indicated, they are referred and bulk billed for patients with a valid Medicare card. There is no out-of-pocket cost for eligible patients.
What conditions may be assessed
The ClearSpine assessment is suited to anyone experiencing spinal or nerve-related concerns. Common reasons people from Clyde North, Cranbourne, Berwick, Officer, and surrounding suburbs book a new patient appointment include:
Lower back pain, whether it has been present for years or flared up recently
Neck pain, particularly when it is linked to posture or long hours at a desk
Disc-related concerns, including pain, stiffness, or referred symptoms into the arms or legs
Headaches that have not responded well to conventional management
Sciatica, including shooting pain, numbness, or weakness into the leg
Postural concerns that are affecting how you move or how you feel day to day
For more detail on specific conditions, the back pain and lower back pain page and the disc injuries page cover the structural factors we commonly assess.
Why a thorough assessment matters before any treatment
Chiropractic care that starts without a clear structural picture is care that is working in the dark. Two people can present with identical symptoms and have completely different structural causes. One person's lower back pain may involve a disc under load; another's may stem from altered lumbar curvature and the compensation patterns built up around it over years.
The technique used at this clinic, Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP), is one of the most extensively researched chiropractic methods available. It is designed to identify measurable structural changes in the spine and address them specifically. That requires a baseline. The assessment creates that baseline.
Research published in peer-reviewed chiropractic and rehabilitation journals supports CBP protocols for spinal curvature correction, with outcomes tracked over time rather than inferred. If you want to understand how the technique works and what the evidence says, the chiropractic techniques page covers this in more detail.

Frequently asked questions
Is this just a standard chiropractic consult?
No. The ClearSpine Pain Assessment includes thermography scanning, full postural and spinal analysis, nerve and chiropractic testing, and an x-ray referral if clinically needed. It is designed to build a complete structural picture, not to collect a brief history and proceed to treatment.
Do I need a GP referral?
No GP referral is required. You can book directly online or by calling (03) 5915 9895.
Will my private health fund cover the assessment?
Many private health funds include chiropractic as part of their extras cover. We recommend checking your individual policy before your visit. Our reception team can also advise when you call.
What if chiropractic care is not right for me?
We will tell you honestly at your assessment. If the findings suggest chiropractic care is unlikely to help your situation, we will say so and point you toward a more appropriate path. There is no pressure to continue after your first visit.
Is chiropractic care safe?
Dr Ashley Cherrett (Chiropractor) is AHPRA registered and a member of the Chiropractors' Association of Australia. All care is evidence-based and adapted to your specific condition and health history. Low-force techniques are available for people who prefer a gentler approach.
